Compression molding, also known as 'Vulcanisation', is a forming process in which rubber or silicone material is placed directly into a heated metal mold cavity then is softened by the heat and therefore forced to conform to the shape of the mold, as the mold closes, while heat and pressure are maintained until the molding material has cured. Once molding is completed excess Flash should be removed.
Compression molding is widely utilized by engineers to develop rubber and silicone parts, as it is one of the lowest cost molding methods compared with other methods like injection molding.
We custom produce metal molds for silicone and rubber parts, and then mass produce the parts, for all kinds of shapes and applications, such as rubber gaskets, silicone keypads, rubber seals, silicone bracelets, food grade silicone kitchen tools, and more. Below are some examples of rubber and silicone parts we have custom made. Want to make your design? Welcome to contact us at sales@responmoulding.com
